ALL ABOUT SLEEP BRAS
TODAY WE'RE DISCUSSING SLEEP BRAS! DO YOU CURRENTLY WEAR ONE TO SLEEP? SHOULD YOU? WHAT'S THEIR PURPOSE ANYWAYS? WE ARE HERE TO HELP YOU ANSWER ALL OF THOSE QUESTIONS AND MORE AS WELL AS SHARE SOME OF OUR FAVORITES WITH YOU ALONG THE WAY!
WHAT'S A SLEEP BRA?
Well, simply put, it's a bra you wear while you're sleeping! It's not the same as a regular bra though... sleep bras need to be wire-free in order to ensure you stay comfortable while you rest. Since our bodies are aligned differently while we sleep, bras with wire support just won't do! Sleep bras are usually looser, softer and less supportive than your every day bras so they are typically made of stretchy and super soft materials.
WHY SHOULD I WEAR ONE?
One of our sleep bra brands, Leading Lady, has given us the top four reasons you should wear a sleep bra to bed every night!
Reason #1 to Wear a Sleep Bra: Stay Comfortable
When you have large breasts they probably tilt in many directions as you find comfortable sleep positions throughout the night. But one thing that may prevent your comfort is your breasts dangling in awkward ways. Avoid this plight with a sleep bra that will keep your breasts positioned for comfort while you drift off to dreamland. Whether you’re a back, side or tummy sleeper, sleep bras are ideal because they clasp in front to avoid any gauging or poking from back closures. Plus, these stretchy wireless bras flow with your nighttime movements without restricting lymphatic fluid or causing inflammation.
Reason #2 to Wear a Sleep Bra: Avoid Irritation
Have you ever felt that annoying irritation of your bare nipples rubbing against a shirt? If that happens to you all night long, it’s going to get uncomfortable, fast! Protect your sensitive breasts in a soft, breathable sleep bra. Slip it on under your favorite sleep t-shirt, coziest pajamas, or silkiest nightgown and say bye-bye to irritation.
Reason #3 to Wear a Sleep Bra: Support Less Sagging
Sagging skin is an unfortunate part of aging – a sad truth most women start to recognize in their 30s. As you age your skin loses elasticity causing droopiness, and that includes breast tissue. Plus, breast tissue is replaced with fat over time, which exacerbates the issue. Compounded by gravity, women with large breasts experience sagging worst of all. Wearing a sleep bra isn’t going to miraculously prevent sagging but it may help reduce stretching of breast tissue, according to some plastic surgeons. When your breasts are positioned properly, their weight will not put as much strain on your skin.
Reason #4 to Wear a Sleep Bra: Reduce Pain
For women who have undergone breast surgery or who have mastalgia (breast pain) which may or may not be related to their menstrual period, a sleep bra may be the best way to ease pain. It’s all about the constant yet soft support a sleep bra can offer. Plus, wearing a front closure bra may be easier to take on and off after surgery or during particularly painful times.
